This Privacy Policy explains how the WYK Maths Team platform ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

  • 1.1 Authentication Data: We collect your school email address, username, and Microsoft OAuth details upon login.
  • 1.2 Academic Data: We collect and store your problem submissions, code, uploaded images, and AI grading feedback.
  • 1.3 Usage Data: We monitor system interactions (such as heartbeat timestamps and IP addresses) to maintain server security and manage traffic.

2. Public Visibility of Information (CRITICAL)

  • 2.1 Real Names and Identifiers: By registering and using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that your Real Name (extracted from the Microsoft OAuth profile) and Username will be visible to all other logged-in users across the Platform, including but not limited to Leaderboards, Submission History, and Public Profiles.
  • 2.2 Public Submissions: All your code and problem submissions are publicly viewable by all administrators and users who have already passed the problem. If you are not the first to solve a problem, your code may be visible to others after you have passed the problem.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • 3.1 We use your data to provide, maintain, and improve the Platform (e.g., calculating ratings, organizing contests, and enabling AI grading).
  • 3.2 We use usage data (such as IP addresses and timestamps) strictly for security, auditing, and preventing abuse (e.g., preventing DDoS attacks or alt-account farming).

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • 4.1 No Commercial Sale: We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties.
  • 4.2 Third-Party Services: We use Microsoft for authentication, MongoDB for data storage, and DeepSeek/Anthropic APIs for AI grading. Your data is processed by these services solely for functional purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures (including access controls and encrypted credentials) to protect your data. However, as a student-run open-source project, we cannot guarantee absolute security against all cyber threats.

6. Your Rights

If you wish to have your account deleted or your data removed from the public-facing parts of the Platform, please contact the Platform administrators. Note that deleting your account will result in the permanent loss of all Tokens, submissions, and achievements.
